The Deva Mala was my (Shannon’s) first piece in my “This or That Project” personal challenge.
It’s so fitting that prayer beads are the first in the list. This past year has brought up so much confusion and anxiety, a little meditation and peace goes a long way.
I’ve been looking into the history of prayer beads across the globe and am fascinated to see the similarities between religions going back centuries. I like to believe it is due to the linked foundations of our ancestors, more ties that bind.
Deva is made of howlite with a pale blue/gray tint, black onyx, green adventurine, and red glass hand knotted with burgundy waxed linen. Overall length is 21”.
